Most Eclipse users know their software can be fine tuned to hone in on their writing styles and to help them achieve better results but they don t know how to go about it. Or they ve done a little but want to do much more. So when asked, What do you wish you understood better within Total Eclipse?", many of our clients point to the Programming tab in User settings because they know that within it reside the means to personalize Eclipse and take its performance to new levels.

Each tab in the User settings dialog contains many controls and settings, but none holds as much as the Programming tab. Just the description alone Programming can be daunting and to many it exists as an unexplored wilderness of functions and features, untouched and untapped.

Those who have ventured in are often stymied by topics with intimidating names like Normalization table for steno definitions, and the mere mention of the Metadictionary sends chills down users spines. Even power users often feel they have only scratched the surface, which is understandable because this tab covers so much territory. In the current version, Total Eclipse 4.2, the Programming tab subsumes 14 categories ranging from Autoreplacements to the Quoted text paragraph map, and that list will grow to 17 categories when Version 4.3 is released later this year.

Clearly this is a vital area of Eclipse because the settings held there affect so many of the things you use every day. For example, the Phonetics table is essential to optimal results when using the Global Magic and Translation Magic features, and the Prefix and suffix definitions affect how words are spelled as the translator builds them. Once you know how to utilize the many tools located within the Programming tab, you ll be able to personalize Eclipse and raise your productivity to new heights.

Those who wish to get even more out of Total Eclipse and who wish to achieve a richer understanding of it should definitely plan to join us for these webinars.

Here's An Overview Of What He'll Cover:

  • Autoreplacements. Speed type and prevent spelling errors.
  • Metadictionary. Practical tweaking to deal with unusual situations.
  • Phonetics table.
  • Prefix and suffix definitions. Get to the root of occasional spelling problems.
  • Essential for optimal results from Global Magic and Translation Magic.
  • Normalization table for steno definitions. How the Globaling dialog can suggest additional entries.
  • Typeover tracking. Practical tips for maintaining this powerful editing tool.
  • Spelling exceptions. Control what the spelling checker will ignore.
  • Common Words. Control what keyword indexing will ignore.
  • Slop strokes. The origins and usefulness of a powerful new feature.

When You Attend A Webinar Suite!

Our clients can view our webinars live and they can view them later (or view just one or the other), but they are not required to watch them at the same date and time. They are thus classified as asynchronous by NCRA. Because of this we are able to get our content pre-approved for CEU credit, but we cannot prepay for the points.

As most of you know, the cost for filing the NCRA CEU form is $50 per event for non-members and this is why we keep our webinars priced as low as they are. The maximum total cost for an EclipseSeminars.com webinar and the NCRA CEU fee is less than $100 per event; $99, to be precise. (NCRA members pay $40 for points so their cost would be $89.)

Now you can lower that cost still more. NCRA will allow you to pay a single fee for attending a suite of our webinars. This suite will consist of two webinars and if you purchase both you can file one CEU form and pay only $49 for it. This reduces your maximum overall cost per webinar, counting the CEU fee, to $74, a savings of about 25%. (NCRA members would have an even lower total cost of $64 per webinar.)

So give yourself a break: Sign up for both webinars. You ll be glad you did and you ll save an extra 25% per seminar when you do!

Please Note: You MUST register for each webinar separately. Registering for one part does NOT automatically register you for the second.
