We continually ask Eclipse users what features they would like to understand better, and macro commands are on nearly everyone's list. Macros roll multiple editing steps into a single command. They're one of the most powerful editing features within Eclipse. Fortunately, there are many macros built into Eclipse already so you don't have to reinvent the wheel by creating them yourself. In fact, the Eclipse default macro set includes macros for almost every imaginable purpose and most of them were created by Keith Vincent. So we're pleased to have him explain them in this fantastic two-part webinar series.

Here You Go!
Macros And Editing From The Writer

We continually ask Eclipse users what features they would like to understand better, and macro commands are on nearly everyone's list. Macros roll multiple editing steps into a single command. They're one of the most powerful editing features within Eclipse. Fortunately, there are many macros built into Eclipse already so you don't have to reinvent the wheel by creating them yourself. In fact, the Eclipse default macro set includes macros for almost every imaginable purpose and most of them were created by Keith Vincent. So we're pleased to have him explain them in this fantastic two-part webinar series.

Part 1 is for scopists, students, reporters, CART writers, captioners, everyone. It's not just for realtime writers. Keith will show you how macros are created and how you and your colleagues can import and export macros. Topics include the creation of macro groups. You'll even see how macros can contain variables so that they prompt you for a name or some other input along the way. With this foundation, you'll be able to create your own macro commands for more efficient editing with Total Eclipse.

Part 2 focuses on realtime editing from the steno writer. Keith will show you how to build on the foundation of the Realtime Editing Kit and the information presented in Part 1 of this two-part series. He'll start with some simple tricks for editing from the steno keyboard and build gradually toward more powerful procedures. Here are a few of the things Keith will show you how to do from your steno keyboard:
• Find the previous Q or A.
• Join paragraphs
• "Zap" (delete) the last untranslate
• Pick a conflict choice
• Fix the last untranslate
• Find and change
• Globaling from the steno keyboard
• Create briefs and control Auto-Brief from the steno keyboard

Both Parts 1 and 2 include time for questions and answers at the conclusion of the live webinar event. So join us for this interactive experience devoted to one of the most powerful parts of Total Eclipse.
